A few months ago we bought the little $2.99 basil plant at Whole Foods. We made a few batches of pesto and then waited for it to grow some more. Instead, it wilted and turned brown. After scolding me for killing my beautiful basil, Kate, my sister, kidnapped the plant. She repotted it, sunned it, watered it, and sat it next to her own huge basil plant for growing support. Last week I got it back from her. It's so big and healthy. And it's happily sunning on our window sill waiting to be turned into pesto!

My Beautiful Basil
